Seal pupping season bargain

The Atlantic Grey seals, which are regularly sighted from the safely-fenced cliffs of Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, have now started pupping!

There is currently a lovely white seal pup lying on the rocks of our furthest cove, around the corner near Cardigan Island. It can be seen from the cliff-top walk within the Farm Park. In light of this we are pleased to announce that, for any visit to the Farm Park from Monday 9th September 2024 through to Friday 18th October 2024, paying visitors can claim a FREE RETURN VISIT VOUCHER to be used up until Saturday 19th October 2024.
So any person, family or group that pays for entry can come back again and view how the pupping season is progressing. The free return is restricted for use by the original ticket purchaser.
Our standard entry prices are just £5.90 per adult, £4.90 per child [2 to 13 years] and £5.50 for seniors [65 years and over]. So with the free return offer, over two visits you would only pay the equivalent of £2.95 per adult, £2.45 per child and £2.75 per senior!
If that doesn’t deserve a seal of approval, then nothing does!

Let’s go fly a kite!

Our seventh annual Kite Festival will be taking place from Friday 21st June through to Sunday 23rd June.

Our friends at “Skybums” in Shropshire will be returning to put on kite flying displays with their huge and varied array of kites. You can buy a kite from their stalls or bring your own kite and pretend you’re Mary Poppins for the day as they help you learn how to fly a kite! There is no additional entry charge for the kite display so it all adds to the fun of a visit to the Farm Park.

Welcome to our new website!

We are delighted to unveil our shiny new bilingual website designed by the very talented team at Monddi in Pembrokeshire.

Monddi have been very busy over the last couple of years helping us re-brand with a new logo, direction signs and turning our ideas into informative signage about our Farm Animals and Wildlife, which can be seen around the Farm Park. There has been a lot of hard work while we have been closed over the Winter of 2018/19 writing the content for the website and we are delighted with the end product which mirrors the new branding we are rolling out right across the Farm Park.

We’d also like to thank Melanie Davies who has been busy making sure all the Welsh language content is perfect. We hope you find the website to be much more informative about what we have on offer and you can now also book our campsite online!

We’re going green in 2019!

We have always been passionate about looking after the land and we would like to try and do our bit for future generations.

It is easy to think that small changes don’t matter but if everyone put some of these in place it would start to make a difference. As part of our green plan we’ve looked at ways we can improve on things here at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park.

Here are some of the things we’ve looked at:

  • We’ve replaced plastic straws with paper ones.
  • We will be switching our take-away hot drink cups to fully compostable ones by the end of 2019.
  • Our own re-usable hot drink cups have been designed and ordered and will be available to purchase in our cafe.
  • Wales led the way on the 5p bag charge and we use recyclable brown paper bags in our gift shop.
  • 90% of our waste is recycled and we intend to increase this by the end of 2019.
  • Much of our lighting uses low energy light bulbs.

However, this year we’re making our biggest commitment so far and investing in an 8.3kW solar panel array which will be installed onto the roof of our visitor centre. This will allow us to generate much of our own electricity. You will be able to see how much electricity the panels generate under different weather conditions on a digital display in our visitor centre.

Meet our new jenny donkey Dwynwen!

Although our donkey jack, Dilwyn has been quite happy keeping Llinos our llama company over the last few years (donkeys and llamas make great companions), we thought it was time he had a girlfriend!

Dwynwen is named after St. Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers (like St. Valentines, only Welsh) who is celebrated every year on the 25th January, which happens to be the day our Dwynwen arrived on the farm!

Meet our new Pygmy goat arrivals!

We have some lovely new Pygmy goat arrivals to the Farm Park.

We think these young boys are just adorable and can’t wait to see them kidding around their paddock in the Spring!
